Schoolmaster snappers move through the coral the way commuters move through a familiar street. Nothing unusual is happening. No one is breaking formation. No single fish claims the frame.
That ordinariness is the point.
This is what abundance looks like when it’s not staged or dramatic. A lot of bodies, a lot of color, all doing exactly what they do every day. The reef holds them. They hold their spacing. The moment doesn’t peak or resolve.
It’s easy to pass over a scene like this underwater, and just as easy to pass over the painting. But this is the baseline — the everyday density that makes everything else possible. Not rare, not symbolic. Present.
