The Abaco Rage. What a beauty, and those that sail her the BOMB! Why don't I just let Bradley Albury, Editor-in-Chief at the Abaconian, tell you all about it! Click here! My Facebook Peeps at Kim Rody Art (click and like, hint hint) helped me decide to keep or ditch the impending, following storm. I posted with or without on Facebook, and 99% of SIXTY EIGHT COMMENTS (so far!) said keep the storm for story and drama. So now, in addition to being "out front" of competition...... A portion of all sales will benefit the Abaco Rage Sailing Syndicate -

Read about this painting in my blog Click Here Email me if you want me to paint your kid underwater. -
Thanks Shane Cash for letting me use your drone's picture of our beautiful Elbow Cay lighthouse! I added the approaching thunderstorm cuz we need some rain. My own little raindance, let's call it. Giclees can be ordered any size - length is DOUBLE the height (i.e. 10X2 = 20..... 10X20). Or, see the pull down menu for standard sizes. -
This is one of my husband's favorites. I painted three extra blue crabs so I'd have a set of EIGHT for my note cards (that come with paper bag envelopes!) -
How about using custom fired tiles for that kitchen or bathroom remodel? We have lots of 3" X 6" white tiles and can put fish, turtles, birds or even an octopus on them! Or, we can use YOUR tiles. Email Kim if you want more info on tiles! $18 per tile, we'll fire them any way you like.

I've ALWAYS loved flamingos, but this is the first one that I have ever painted!!! Original is available, contact Kim, please. -
This painting was created as the focal point for the "Women in the Arts" Celebration at the Abaco Inn on Elbow Cay on November 24, 2018. This was one of the first shots I took with my Olympus TOUGH underwater camera when I first got it. That image has been bouncing around in my head for a while..... I was very glad to get it out of my head and on a 60 inch canvas!

Elbow Cay reef used to look a lot more like this than it does now. Corals and fish don't like super hot water and have essentially "left the building" where I live. But the reef is still alive in our dreams. Original is a triptych of three 30X30 stretched canvases, (total size 30X90) with frames by Mark. Gallery wrapped Giclees can be purchased separately or together. This COULD be confusing.... the square sizes listed would be one THIRD of the complete piece. (Your choice!) The COMPLETE piece is either sold as ONE BIG STRETCHED CANVAS, or THREE INDIVIDUAL SQUARES. Kind of overwhelming, so Contact Kim for all the multitude of ways you can purchase and display this painting. Thanks! -
Here's a quote (and the story) from the photographer of this terrific composition, Keith Salvesen of Rolling Harbour, Abaco: "Kim Rody, well-known artist has kindly chosen to use my photo of a group of Abaco sanderlings on the beach at Delphi as the basis for a gorgeous painting (still a work in progress). So pleased these sweet little shorebirds have become a work of art..." For info regarding the 36" X 48" original, please contact the artist. -
Here's a 10X10 acrylic painting on birchwood with acrylic. I saw the photo on Instagram and asked John Garza, photographer if I could use his images. He said yes! So fun to imagine myself being down there with the mama whale and her twins. Original is available, contact Kim, please. -
Sabine and I took our sunfish sailboats to Cracker Peas the other day to meet the hubbies and grab lunch. Then we sailed back to our respective homes, where I washed "Lizzy" down and good and left her to dry at the dock. She's a great boat with a great history, and pretty beautiful sails IMHO. A real sweetheart! This boat was a contestant in the Sunfish World Championships in Nassau in 2009 which is the reason for the beautiful yellow, blue and black colors as well as the island motif which is a trademark of the Bahamas. She’s been owned by two friends of mine, and once a honeybee colony was discovered in her cockpit when the cover was removed. Her name is Lizzy due to a gecko that hitched a ride on the boat during a Hope Town sailing race. So, now you know the whole story. Original is available, contact Kim for pricing. -
Here's a very special request from a very special client o' mine. He liked the lobster with a bottle of Kalik (After the Dive), but wanted to add a HINT of SOPHISTICATION, thus we decided to switch to a fine bottle o' Miraval (delightful summer rose wine!). Since I had FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE with this wine (made a visit over there to Brad and Angie's place last summer), it was sooo much fun to paint! And, we got to eat and drink the subject matter afterward! Goes to show you some of my best ideas come from my clients!!!
