Four bowls, one crab design, lots of fun.

We spent this summer (2021) on Papaya in an Oxford marina. One of the perks of the Chesapeake Bay are blue crabs – yum! A great way to spend a hot summer afternoon.

Ate crabs one summer in Rock Hall, MD with Mark, Pap and Schooner. ALL WE COULD EAT. I’m STILL stuffed.

Callinectes sapidus (from the Greek calli- = “beautiful“, nectes = “swimmer“, and Latin sapidus = “savory”), The wonderful Blue Crab! I love them so much.

Here’s a blue crab that lost its way and somehow ended up on Elbow Cay! When I was doing my research on blue crabs, they ARE considered endangered – but only on the Chesapeake Bay. Maybe that’s why he moved!

Second painting of my blue crab series. Makes me want to go buy some chicken necks! (Hope you know what that means…)
