The Abaco Rage. What a beauty, and those that sail her the BOMB!
Why don’t I just let Bradley Albury, Editor-in-Chief at the Abaconian, tell you all about it!
My Facebook Peeps at Kim Rody Art (click and like, hint hint) helped me decide to keep or ditch the impending, following storm. I posted with or without on Facebook, and 99% of SIXTY EIGHT COMMENTS (so far!) said keep the storm for story and drama.
So now, in addition to being “out front” of competition……
A portion of all sales will benefit the Abaco Rage Sailing Syndicate

Sabine and I took our sunfish sailboats to Cracker Peas the other day to meet the hubbies and grab lunch. Then we sailed back to our respective homes, where I washed “Lizzy” down and good and left her to dry at the dock. She’s a great boat with a great history, and pretty beautiful sails IMHO. A real sweetheart!
This boat was a contestant in the Sunfish World Championships in Nassau in 2009 which is the reason for the beautiful yellow, blue and black colors as well as the island motif which is a trademark of the Bahamas. She’s been owned by two friends of mine, and once a honeybee colony was discovered in her cockpit when the cover was removed. Her name is Lizzy due to a gecko that hitched a ride on the boat during a Hope Town sailing race. So, now you know the whole story.

Eagle rays don’t travel alone. They move in groups — a squadron, a fever, a parade — gliding in loose formation through the water column, wingtips nearly touching, going somewhere with complete certainty.
These are spotted eagle rays in Pelican Cays Land and Sea Park, one of the protected marine areas in the Abacos. If you’ve been lucky enough to be in the water when a group passes, you know the feeling. You just stop. You watch. You don’t breathe.
They don’t seem to notice you at all. (If they did, you’d never know it.) That’s the best part.

Second painting of my blue crab series. Makes me want to go buy some chicken necks! (Hope you know what that means…)

Inspired by Julie Suess’ beautiful turtle photography.

This is from a photograph from the 30’s of my grandmother, Georgia Penn. The depression had just hit in Lexington, Kentucky. It was too expensive for my grandfather to heat the house, so he sent his wife and three boys (another one came later) down to live in Dania Beach while he worked at the race track and lived in cold Lexington alone. My dad told me he thouroughly enjoyed the entire depression!

Giclees are printed on canvas and gallery wrapped around the edges, wired on the back, and ready to hang. IF YOU INTEND TO FRAME this piece, let us know and we will stretch on smaller bars, which will decrease your framing costs. Thanks!

I had a GREAT snorkel off of Islas Mujeres many years ago, and “swam with the tangs”…. a huge school of purple beauties. I would have dreams about doing that for years later, and painted this one out of my head.

Live, from Venice, a stage set overlooking St. Mark’s Square. I loved all the pigeons. The music was FABULOUS.

Wonderful creatures. Hard to spot unless they are out and about. They blend right into rocks and the bottom. CLICK HERE to see the platter.

My parents had green fingers and toes in addition to their green thumbs. Dad built this large garden when they lived in Asheville, and mom picked the flowers and herbs to put in it.

I took this picture in a Whole Foods Market until they chased me and my camera out. I like the mesh they are laying on.

I went into the fish market and made that poor boy stand there with a fish while I took pictures. Thanks, little buddy.

Pescadillas seen in a street market in Madrid, Spain.

Having her cup ‘o joe waiting for her fish eyes to open so she can see to read the paper.
I used a Victoria’s Secret catalog model who was wearing a pajama teddy. I painted her with the top and bottom on, and realized she was not BUCK NAKED so I painted the pants off of her.

Original hangs in Great Guana Cay.
